The child dies from whooping cough after the mother did not vaccinate during pregnancy

The child whose mother was not vaccinated against whooping cough during pregnancy died after infection, the UK Safety Agency (UKHSA) said.

The death that occurred from January to June 2025 is the first fatal case of whooping cough in the UK this year.
